Gordon Elliott dealt huge blow with Grade 1 winner ruled out for season
GORDON ELLIOTT has been dealt a huge blow with Grade 1 winner Irish Point ruled out for the season.
The Robcour-owned six-year-old finished second to State Man in last year’s Champion Hurdle.
He had picked up two Grade 1s before that, including at Aintree and the Jack de Bromhead hurdle by 11 lengths at Leopardstown last Christmas.
But Elliott has confirmed the 12-1 Stayers’ Hurdle fancy is out for the season after suffering a setback.
