Morning Briefing: Mets’ Magical Ride Comes to an End in NLCS

0

Good morning, Mets fans.

After being handed an early 1-0 lead, Sean Manaea gave up a two-run double and a two-run homer to Tommy Edman, and the Mets left a small village on base as their season came to an end with a 10-5 defeat at the hands of the Dodgers in Game 6 of the NLCS. Edman, who went 11-for-26 and drove in 11 runs in the six games, was named Series MVP. Mark Vientos clubbed a two-run homer to give him 14 RBIs this postseason, setting a franchise record.

“Just super proud of everything we accomplished, everyone here,” Manaea said after the game. “Nobody else I’d do it with. These boys grinded the whole year.”

The Dodgers will now move on to face the Yankees in the World Series beginning Friday. It will be the 12th time the two franchises have faced off in the Fall Classic.
