Derby Day had arrived as we welcomed Ebbsfleet Utd to a rain soaked Princes Park. A game that is always a great spectacle to watch and this game was no exception.

Darts began the game brightly and were nearly ahead early on. In the 3rd minute, a great cross from Abbey Davies found Emily Vaughan in the box, but the Darts forward headed over and the game remained goalless.

The visitors then began to get in to the game and created a couple of good opportunities. The best of the chances coming in the 20th minute, a good move from the away side saw them get in behind the Darts defence. However, a great recovery run and block from Georgie Davis prevented the visitors from going ahead.

The big talking point of the first half came shortly after. In the 22nd minute, Darts were reduced to 10 as Jo Woodgates was sent off halfway through the first half.

The visitors created several chances as the half went on, but the Darts defence stood tall and the game was goalless at the halfway stage.

The second half began very conservatively with both sides trying to get the edge in a tight contest. Both sides created half chances but the game would remain goalless until the final 15 minutes.

Darts continued to defend bravely throughout the second half and it looked as though the hard work had paid off as we took the lead. In the 76th minute, a long ball from Beth Powell caused confusion in the Ebbsfleet defence and there was Emily Vaughan to capitalise and fire home to put us ahead.

The visitors threw everything at the Darts defence in the final 15 minutes and got the equaliser in the final three minutes. Ebbsfleet skipper Charley Clifford was put through on goal by Millie Waud and finished past the Darts keeper to equalise.

Darts thought they had found the winner in the final minute, but the referee blew for a foul inside the 6yd box and the points were shared.

FT Dartford FC 1-1 Ebbsfleet Utd.

A resilient performance from the Darts, who were down to 10 players for well over 70 minutes. A big thank you to all the fans for coming out to support us.
