'Warhawk': Trump lashes out at Republican in pre-dawn Truth Social rant

0

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump lashed out at his own party members who have turned against him, and warned them their own policies would deter Arab American voters from supporting Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump took to Truth Social just before 1 a.m. Tuesday to hurl bitter complaints at two former Republican lawmakers who have stated publicly they'll vote Democrat rather than back him: former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Rep. Liz Cheney.

"Lyin’ Kamala has stooped so low as to pick a woman to campaign with her who lost her Congressional Race by the largest margin," Trump wrote.

"The record holder is Crazed Warhawk Liz Cheney, whose father, Dick, convinced Bush to go into the Middle East and KILL."

Trump hurled his complaint at his fellow Republicans as Cheney continued to stump for Harris.

On Monday, Cheney served as a kind of ambassador to the Republican women voters that the Harris campaign hopes to lure away from Trump with warnings of tyranny and authoritarianism, the New York Times reported.

Trump was correct about Cheney's defeat. She did suffer a historic loss in Wyoming in 2022 after she spoke out against the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riots, then ran against a Trump-backed Republican who won 66 percent of the party's primary vote.

But Trump has also brought to his side politicians with surprising defeats in the recent past, among them Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis who tried to topple the former president in the conservative primary and now has campaign staffers woking for him in swing states.

Trump's tirade included a jab at former President George W. Bush and his administration's war in Iraq and Afghanistan following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

He suggested this was why Arab American voters should not vote for Harris, who served in an administration that withdrew the U.S. from Afghanistan.

"Now Kamala wants Arabs to vote for her?" Trump wrote. "I don’t think so!"

Trump and Harris have both been making direct appeals to Arab American voters in Michigan, a crucial swing state, where the vice president speaks about the importance of ending the war in Gaza.

According to reports, the former president has been hitting the airwaves with controversial ads that include "antisemitic dog whistles."
