Former employee arrested in connection with burglary of New Iberia business

NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY) -- A burglary of a New Iberia business last week was alleged committed by a former employee, authorities said.
Jeramie Lloyd Benjamin, 37, was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail Friday on the charge of simple burglary.
The New Iberia Police Department responded Oct. 15 to a report of a business burglary in the 700 block of East Admiral Doyle Drive. At the start of the investigation, a former employee was identified as a person of interest, officials said.
According to New Iberia Police, the former employee, Benjamin, was identified as the suspect and arrested.
Bond details were not released.
