Tottenham want to ease Richarlison back into action for key financial reason
Tottenham Hotspur have now made a decision on how to use Richarlison after the Brazilian returned to action in the 4-1 win over West Ham.
Richarlison’s injury woes
Richarlison has been plagued by constant injuries over the last 12 months, with the striker having played just 25 minutes in the Premier League across the first two games of the season before picking up an injury.
He made his long-awaited return to action in Spurs’ 4-1 win over West Ham on Saturday, with the 27-year-old coming on as a late substitute for Dominic Solanke.
Now that Richarlison has emerged from the game unscathed, Spurs have now drafted a plan on how to use him.
Ange Postecoglou’s plans for Richarlison
According to GiveMeSport, Spurs plan on ‘forensically monitoring’ Richarlison’s progress over the coming weeks and months.
They are eager not to antagonise any issues his body has faced and will thus use him sparingly so that he can remain fit for a sustained period.
It is explained that Tottenham do not want to over-burden him with too many minutes right now as Ange Postecoglou believes that the striker could be a ‘significant addition’ to his attack if he can stay off the treatment table.
Tottenham’s future plans
According to the outlet, Spurs ideally want Richarlison to recapture the form he showed at the turn of 2024.
However, the club’s hierarchy are yet to make a decision on the former Everton man’s future and are expected to do so at the end of the season.
There is said to be a realisation at Hotspur Way that keeping Richarlison fit is the best way to ensure he is still a salable asset if they do decide to part ways with him next year.
