Dejan Kulusevski shares what his sister said to him following his Man of the Match performance against West Ham. In fact, it turns out she texts him after every single Spurs match.

It is fair to say that Kulusevski is now playing better than he ever has, with the attacker having taken his game to a new level this season.

It can be argued that he has been Tottenham’s best player so far this campaign, regularly being the difference maker for Ange Postecoglou’s side over the past few weeks.

While Spurs fans are over the moon with the 24-year-old’s displays, it turns out one of his family members thinks he can do even better.

Kulusevski’s harshest critic

Kulusevski has revealed that his sister demands he either scores or assists in every game that he plays. High standards indeed from the Kulusevski household!

He confessed that she was thus satisfied with his showing against the Hammers after he scored Tottenham’s equaliser with a well-taken goal in the first half.

When reminded by commentator Rob Daley that he previously said his sister was his harshest critic, Kulusevski told SpursPlay: “Yeah, I just picked up my phone now and she said she wants me to score or make an assist at least every game. When I do that she said ‘now it is okay’.”

Ange Postecoglou agrees with Deki’s sister

It seems like Postecoglou is in full agreement with Kulusevski’s sister, with the Tottenham head coach also suggesting that the former Juventus man is capable of making more contributions in the final third.

The Australian said in his post-match press conference after the 4-1 win (via Football.London): “The evolution of Deki as a player, that (number eight) is now his role not just for us but he’s playing there for the national team too. He’s got this ability to get out of tight spaces and he’s a really strong runner. He is relentless in his running capacity and he also has the quality.

“In that final third, I still think we can get more goals out of him, more assists but he is constantly in those threatening areas and he’s been outstanding for us all year. Today he had to show some other facets of the game, some defensive work as well which I thought he did well but I thought the whole team did well.”
