'It's shameful': Wall Street Journal ripped on MSNBC for blowing off Trump's threats

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough lashed out at Wall Street Journal Monday after the editorial board published a piece blowing off concerns about Donald Trump's growing fascism.

The editorial, entitled "The 'Fascist' Meme Returns," attempted to make the case that not only is the former president not exhibiting authoritarian tendencies when he calls his political opponents "the enemy within," but that it is Democrats who are the real threat in America.

As the Journal's editorial board put it, "All of which is to say that the fear of fascism would have more credibility if Democrats didn’t abuse power themselves. If they lose the election against a flawed Mr. Trump, it won’t be because he is a wannabe Mussolini. The reason will be the Biden-Harris record."

Joined by noted historian Jon Meacham, Scarborough said that the Journal has outsized influence among voters, and the editors behind the piece are putting the country at risk for no discernible reason.

The "Morning Joe" host made a point of busting the editors for completely ignoring the former president's inciting an insurrection on Jan. 6 — and then shared clips of the mob storming the Capitol.

"Joe Biden didn't have his people attack the Capitol," the MSNBC host told his panel. "This right here, not even mentioned in today's, quote, fascist meme editorial. but yesterday, again, 'The enemy within, the enemy within, the enemy within.' We keep hearing it and who is the left-wing freak, the left-wing radical the the Wall Street Journal points to as being the most extreme in her hyperbole?"

"It's smoke and mirrors again," he added. " I'm concerned about this because it's shameful, and it doesn't call out authoritarian language. But make no mistake, the pace is quickening, and there is a reason he is saying, every day, Democrats are the enemy within. Democrats are the enemy within. [Nancy] Pelosi and [Adam] Schiff and all of these people. this is — they know. Everybody knows."
