Sonam Wangchuk's fast enters 15th day, Shankaracharya and Ladakh villagers show support

Sonam Wangchuk, an environmentalist from Ladakh, has been on a 15-day salt and water fast to press for Ladakh's inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. He seeks constitutional safeguards for the region. Jagadguru Shankaracharya visited Leh in support. Hundreds of protesters in Delhi were detained. Wangchuk's movement is backed by the Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance.
