Our Land

0

Our Land is a minimalist space located in Guangzhou, China, designed by KINJO DESIGN. The vision was to conceive a living space that transcended conventional design paradigms, encompassing diverse and multifunctional zones while fostering an intimate engagement with the natural environment—a home that evoked the feeling of perpetual retreat. The architectural intervention adopts a multidimensional strategy, reshaping spatial dynamics through complex volumetric manipulations and the use of a diagonal organizational framework. This approach optimizes both functional and visual domains, engendering an organic spatial flow that subverts traditional architectural conventions. By dissolving the established interior boundaries, the reconfiguration introduces novel spatial experiences and fosters an atmosphere of continual discovery. The spatial organization is predicated on the prioritization of landscape vistas, aiming to amplify their presence throughout the dwelling.

Employing a staggered, stepped spatial articulation, the designers generated subtle transitions between zones, thereby facilitating unbroken visual continuity and an immersive connection to the verdant surroundings. The orchestration of natural light was integral to the formation of the spatial layout, guiding the orientation and form of the floor plan and giving rise to emergent spatial typologies that enhance the dwelling’s phenomenological qualities. The restructuring of the entire space was informed by an analysis of Beemo and Dio’s living patterns and functional requirements, resulting in an open and interlinked spatial configuration. This cohesive integration of programmatic function and architectural structure cultivates a fluid and dynamic experiential quality, wherein natural elements—light, vegetation, and topography—are embedded into the spatial narrative of the home.
