‘You got to believe’: Mets to face off against Dodgers for Game 6

NEW YORK (AP) — The Mets insist their greatest rebound of 2024 may be yet to come.

“If we come back from this, then it’s going to be a heck of a story. We're going to be adding to that whole Grimace, OMG stuff," Brandon Nimmo said after New York fell into a 3-1 NL Championship Series deficit Thursday. 

The Mets won 12-6 on Friday to send the best-of-seven series back to Los Angeles. 

The Dodgers are trying to secure their fourth trip to the World Series in the last eight years. The Mets, on the other hand, are looking to secure the first Subway Series since 2000. 

On Saturday, the Yankees secured their 41st World Series run with a 5-2 win against the Guardians. 

“We’re back,” said Derek Jeter in a post to X. 

The Mets would be reaching the World Series for the first time since 2015 and winning the title for the first time since 1986. 

“If you have no belief, you shouldn't be here,” Francisco Lindor said. “You got to believe. You got to fight for what we want.”
