Cyta and EKO also a target of cyberattacks

Semi-governmental telecommunications authority (Cyta) and petrol company EKO were the targets of cyberattacks, a source told CNA on Sunday.

The attacks on both companies occurred on Saturday, following a spate of cyberattacks on Cypriot public services, including the electricity authority and the airports.

According to the same source, the attack was dealt with immediately and stopped.

The same source added that the goal of the hackers is to stop websites of crucial structures in Cyprus from operating.

CNA reported that personal data has not been violated so far.
