The India A has set high fielding standards for their own team, which was visible in their opening match against Pakistan Shaheens in the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2024.
Ramandeep Singh was the changing mark for the match when he went covered a lot of distance and made a dive to grab a catch out of nowhere and dismiss Pakistan Shaheen’s opener Yasir Ali, resulting in the whole team remaining shocked in the dugout.
This incident happened during the 9th over of innings. India A was in desperate need of an opportunity to make a breakthrough when skipper Tilak Varma decided to bring Nishant Sindhu to attack. Yasir hit his first ball towards the deep mid-wicket. There was barely any height to the ball and was going for a four.
However, Ramandeep came in clutch and took a shocking one-handed catch as he jumped and caught the ball mid air to dismiss Yasir.
