GoM suggests higher GST rates for premium products, relief for senior citizens' health insurance

A group of ministers (GoM) examining Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates has proposed moving certain premium shoes and watches into the 28% tax bracket from the current 18%. This price-based GST approach may affect more high-end products. The GoM will reconvene next month before finalizing its report for the GST Council's decision.
