Cole Kmet Says Bears’ Biggest Trash Talker Is Last One You’d Expect

0

Anybody who has watched professional sports for a long period of time knows that trash-talking is one of the great art forms. Many throughout history built great NFL careers on it. Steve Smith, Terrell Suggs, Richard Sherman, Shannon Sharpe, and John Randle are some of the most iconic. The Chicago Bears aren’t short of such players, too. Otis Wilson, Steve McMichael, Martellus Bennett, and Jay Cutler earned such reputations. It appears the latest version of the team has at least one standout, according to Cole Kmet.

The tight end appeared on The Stretch podcast this past week, where he was asked who the biggest trash talker on the team was. At first, he pointed out quarterback Caleb Williams as someone who wasn’t afraid to chirp. Then he had an Epiphone moment.

Cole Kmet revealed the Bears’ classic bench guy.

For those who don’t know, every team seems to have that one guy who just loves talking trash from the bench despite them rarely getting in games. The most famous example of this was M.L. Carr from the Boston Celtics. Despite barely getting in games during the team’s championship runs in the 1980s, he would constantly bark at guys from the bench. It got so bad at times that refs would threaten to throw him out of games. Doug Kramer seems to be that sort of guy. He knows he isn’t getting into the game, so he might as well get the most out of the experience by saying all sorts of crazy stuff to the opponent.

The fact Cole Kmet has to tell him to shut up suggests it is pretty messed up. Maybe that is why the Bears have never had Kramer mic’d up. Hearing this story only makes you want to hear what he’s saying. The mystery is killing us.
