New Delhi: Talking about the start of the innings by Rishabh Pant, after playing the patient game for 24 balls, Rishabh Pant set his bat loose by punishing New Zealand’s senior pacer Tim Southee with a 107m mammoth six. Even the New Zealand players were also left stunned by the star batter. Rishabh Pant smashed the maximum in the third innings of the first Test between the teams at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday (October 19).

The star wicketkeeper batter stunned everyone with a monstrous hit off Tim Southee when he was batting on 90 off 99 balls. The Kiwis had kept wicketkeeper Tom Blundell on the stumps to prevent Pant from stepping out, but the Indian showed that he didn’t need to.

The first ball of the over was a full one outside the off-stump and Rishabh Pant stood still, using his power and quick bat speed to smash it down the ground. The ball soared past a couple of eagles to land in the third tier at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

However, Rishabh was unfortunate to miss out on his seventh Test hundred as India witnessed a collapse just before the tea break. William O’Rourke clean-bowled Pant on 99 to stun the Indian fans and then took New Zealand ahead in the game with KL Rahul’s big wicket just before the tea break.
