Tamil Nadu govt declares public holiday on November 1

The Tamil Nadu government has designated 1 November as a holiday for government offices, public sector undertakings, schools, and colleges to aid travel post-Deepavali celebrations. To offset this, 9 November will be a working day. This decision follows a request from a government and teachers' association.
