Debuting at WatchTime New York 2024: Zeitwinkel model 240°

0

Joining WatchTime New York 2024 for its second time this year, the Swiss watchmaker Zeitwinkel today presents its latest collection at the show: the model 240°. The new collection follows up on the brand’s launch last year with the MAKS, offering a redesigned case that is sportier and more robust for casual wear, all while maintaining the brand’s signatures in dial design and a German Silver automatic caliber.

The new model 240° is available in five different options. Four of these feature a grey PVD stainless steel case, with their variations being in dial color: red, blue, orange, and grey. The last, dubbed the model 240° NOIR, features a namesake black PVD steel case and matching dial, alongside “Black Or” plates and bridges in the movement.

On the wrist, the watch measures 40.5mm in steel, with a bold crown, screwed-in crown guards, and a fixed 60-minute bezel adding immediately to its sporty appeal. Not your “typical sports watch,” the model 240° is more focused toward those who are active but still want an elegant timepiece, which the brand works to provide. Nonetheless, the case construction is solid, while the 100m of water resistance points to its all-purpose capabilities.

Underneath a sapphire crystal, the five dial options are on view. No matter the color, each of the dials features a look sectored by texture, with an outer smooth minute flange, a middle grained hour section, and an inner, almost-scalloped look. Applied Arabic hour numerals, each filled with lume, add to the legibility of the display, while a pair of signature Zeitwinkel elongated hands indicate the passing hours and minutes.

Powering the watch is the Zeitwinkel manufacture caliber ZW0102. The automatic mechanism features a power reserve of 72-hours, with German Silver plates and bridges as part of its construction. For the model 240° NOIR edition, as mentioned, these plates and bridges receive a DLC treatment. All the movements are visible via a sapphire exhibition caseback.

The Zeitwinkel model 240° is available now, with pricing for the grey case editions marked at 15,900 CHF— about $18,400 USD at the time of writing— and the NOIR edition marked at 17,200 CHF, or about $19,900 USD.
