Scott On Rangers Clash & Selection Headaches
Head Coach Grant Scott admits he is facing a selection headache ahead of Hibs Women’s home clash versus Rangers on Sunday (20 October).
The Hibees face off against the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League leaders at Meadowbank Stadium after a run of three successive victories.
Commanding wins over Queen’s Park, Montrose and Spartans have the girls high in confidence, but Scott understands this weekend’s match is an undeniable step up in opposition.
“These are the games we want to test ourselves in. Our home record this season has been really good.
“We’ve got to show the right commitment and character this weekend to take anything from the game. It’s going to be tough, there’s no doubt about that.
“For us consistency is key. It’s very easy to dismantle what you have been doing because you’ve got a tough opponent coming up. We’ve maybe been guilty of that in the past but the focus has been on us [this season].
“There’s good stuff going on in the group, we have that togetherness and belief again. We need to show all of that.”

Aside from dealing with the strong opposition, Scott and his staff must also decide who takes to the pitch on Sunday.
With the return of Rachael Boyle, Rosie Livingstone and Kirsten Reilly to the matchday squad following injury layoffs, Hibs now boast a full first team squad of 20 match-ready players.
“It’s a massive headache. Myself, Stewart and Joelle in the main were on the same page. But now we have weekly debates because we have a fully fit squad.
“We know there are players we are leaving out of the starting eleven who are more than capable of performing the job we want. It’s tough.
“We’ve got 20 players who are all buying into what we want to achieve here and very motivated to do well.
“As much as it’s a headache, it’s a real privilege to have these quality players to pick from. It’s a good place we are in right now.”
