Gray Wants To Send Travelling Fans Home Happy

There are almost 2,500 Hibernian FC supporters travelling to Tannadice to cheer on the Hibees this weekend, and Head Coach David Gray wants to send them all home happy.

Gray and his side are looking for their first league victory on the road this campaign, and will be buoyed by a raucous away end on Saturday.

Our opponents, Dundee United, have started the season well and currently sit fifth with 12 points from their opening seven games of the season.

When speaking to Hibs TV ahead of the weekend, Gray heaped praise on the Hibs fans and gave his thoughts on the Terrors.

“We always travel well in our numbers. It really helps the players having that voice and support.

“We need to make sure we do everything possible to make sure the fans go home happy.

“Dundee United had a real strong start to the season. They’re hard to beat – you can see that from the way Jim sets his team up – and they will be aggressive and hard working. Credit to them for starting the season the way they have being a newly-promoted side.

“The full focus, though, is on us. We know what we need to do to get three points. Our performance level has been improving but that doesn’t matter if you’re not getting the results. We need to put it all together and come back with the right result.”

In preparation for this match, Gray and his coaching staff have been working hard with the First Team squad during the international break. Our Head Coach gave us an insight into their last two weeks.

“We had a lot of time on the grass working on the areas we know we need to improve in, essentially the basics in both boxes. The performance level against Motherwell in isolation as good in large parts, but the other bit was missing, which is what we worked on.

“We played St Johnstone in a bounce game, so that was good to give the lads competitive minutes, so that was good. We then tasked the players to implement what they’d be working on in the week, and the way they implemented that was pleasing too.”
