'Come on!' Kamala Harris taunts 'exhausted' Trump over mass interview cancelations

0

Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday taunted former President Donald Trump for canceling multiple planned interviews over the last month.

While campaigning in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Harris used the interview cancelations to drive home a point about Trump's mental fitness for the job of the presidency.

"Now he is ducking debates and canceling interviews," she said. "Come on! And check this out: His own campaign team recently said it is because of exhaustion! Well, if you are exhausted on the campaign trail, it raises real questions about whether you are fit for the toughest job in the world!"

At this point, the audience in Grand Rapids erupted in cheers.

In the last month, Trump has canceled planned interviews with CBS News' "60 Minutes," as well as with CNBC and NBC. And on Friday, the former president abruptly ended an interview with right-wing radio host Dan Bongino, who appeared to be confused by the former president's actions.

Harris has been trying to draw a contrast with Trump by doing a number of interviews, including some on not-so-friendly outlets such as Fox News.

She has also repeatedly questioned Trump's mental stability.

"Donald Trump is increasingly unstable," Harris said earlier this week. "And as has been said by people who have worked closely with him, even when he was president, he's unfit to be president of the United States."
