We have a lot to look forward to on the next episode of High Potential. Fun, exotic animals are coming our way, and what will surely be another big brother speech from Karadec.

Considering the next episode will have plenty of fun animals, we’ll get the full breadth and width of Morgan’s zoology knowledge. Teach us something new, Miss Morgan.

Viewers all around agree that High Potential boasts as much heart as it does brain. So, while we’re sure to learn something new, there’s a good chance crying will be involved.

The undeniable chemistry between Karadec and Morgan is one of the series’ shining highlights. However, like many of you, I have no interest in seeing those two get intimate.

On The Next Episode Of High Potential, Morgan Shoots Karadec. Not Joking.

The idea of Karadec and Morgan possibly kissing rubs me the wrong way. To me, they have a brother-sister dynamic. There’s as much love as there is bickering.

Although, we likely have a lot of arguing headed our way. At the end of the promo, Morgan can be seen shooting Karadec in the neck with a tranquilizer gun.

First, kudos to Morgan for having such incredible aim. There will probably be an explanation for her shot, like she couldn’t sleep one night and went to the gun range.

You’ll need some context if you haven’t watched the promo yet. Up until that point, the team was investigating a murdered vet before Morgan identified poison in the hand soap Karadec was about to use.

Hence, the shot to the neck. While she was likely saving her partner’s life, I do not doubt that the detective will have some choice words for Miss Morgan.

At least we’re to the point where we know Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) won’t fly off the handle and Morgan won’t quit.

Are Ludo And Morgan The “Will They, Won’t They” Couple Of High Potential?

Now, if there is one person I wouldn’t mind seeing Morgan saddle up to, it’s Taran Killam’s Ludo Radovic. I’m starting to understand why some women are attracted to men who are just good dads.

Sadly, the idea of a “good dad” is still foreign enough to live as a fantasy in many minds. However, even if that wasn’t the case, Ludo is still such a sweet dad.

At the start of the promo, he’s seen taking the baby from Morgan as she heads off to work. I love that dynamic so much. There’s a clear amount of respect between the co-parents.

(Carlos Lopez-Calleja/Disney)

It would be great to see those two reconcile. The level of love they still have for one another is apparent every time they look at each other.

It’s great to see a divorced couple maintain such a healthy relationship. They have so much balance that it’s hard to imagine why they separated in the first place.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens to that dynamic when the wheels on Roman’s case start rolling.

If Ludo is as fantastic as he seems, he’ll probably say something sexy to Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) like, “I understand what you’ve been through and support you completely.” Those are boot-knocking words right there!

Morgan And Karadec Both Need To Find That Work-Life Balance

The official synopsis of High Potential Season 1 Episode 5 reads: “The team investigates the death of an exotic animal veterinarian; work interferes with Karadec’s dating life; Morgan follows a parental hunch about her teenage daughter.”

(Carlos Lopez-Calleja/Disney)

So, we know a few things that weren’t evident in the promo. If I had to make a guess, that is likely very wrong; the tranquilizer to the neck might prevent Karadec from attending a date.

I can’t see work getting in the way of his dating life any other way. Unless he’s dating a suspect. Now that is one episode I would watch the crap out of.

There’s also the mention of Morgan’s daughter, Ava. We all saw how Morgan lost her cool when she found an unfamiliar teen boy in High Potential Season 1 Episode 3 in her house.

Hopefully, she treated that last event like a learning experience. However, many of you said Morgan was absolutely right about her reaction.

I heard you and agree that she was right to blow a gasket. I was a teenage boy once, and it’s true what they say. Only one thing is on our minds at that age and every subsequent age until thirty.

If High Potential Could Take It Easy On The Tear-Inducing Scenes, That Would Be Greatly Appreciated By Dehydrated Fans Everywhere

(Raymond Liu/Disney)

Though they aren’t in the promo, and their character hasn’t been revealed, an unfamiliar face will grace the small screen in the next episode.

Adam Hagenbuch will be making an appearance, and, according to his Instagram, “Had a blast playing an absolute stereotype of a douche bag on ABC’s High Potential.”

So, even though whoever he portrays sucks, the actor had a great time playing the part! Hagenbuch is known for roles in Switched at Birth, Fuller House, and American Horror Stories.

And he’s not too hard on the eyes if I say so myself. Don’t you hate it when the jerks are handsome? It’s so confusing. Oh, and his facial hair in the episode is fake.

Luckily, Hagenbuch seems like a nice guy playing a bad one. Hopefully, he’s not the killer, but one thing High Potential has taught us is that it’s never the obvious answer.

(Carlos Lopez-Calleja/Disney)

This next episode will hopefully be a little lighter than High Potential Season 1 Episode 4. It was a fantastic case and story, but also so heavy.

I like a good cry now and then, but “Survival Mode” just about drained me of every last drop of water in my body. Either way, you already know I’m going to watch it.

As some of you have expressed, I, too, am highly addicted to High Potential. The plotting, character development, and even the cases are incredibly written.

Another episode has gone by with no word of a renewal. What the hell are the bigwigs at CBS doing? Do they not hear the thunderous outcry for more High Potential?

They should extend the season. They need to give it the twenty-plus episode count because ten is not enough.

High Potential continues to exceed viewers’ expectations by delivering one beautifully crafted episode after another.

(Carlos Lopez-Calleja/Disney)

This career-defining performance from Kaitlin Olson is almost on par with Kathy Bates’s acting in Matlock. Emphasis on almost.

Regardless, audiences everywhere like High Potential for its interesting premise, but love it because it has as much heart as brain.
