Rumer Willis Says Daughter Louetta Has Inherited One of Grandpa Bruce Willis’s Most Famous Traits
Even when he was held up at gun point, going on a high-speed chase, or covered in (fake) blood, Bruce Willis always has a little something in his eye. That mischievous glint that tells you he’s in on the joke. He’s cunning and sexy, quick-witted and even quicker on his feet. It means he’s up to no good — like he’s going to yell “Yippie-kai-yay, mother—” and launch into the coolest action sequence ever. And apparently, that gleam-that-can’t-be-taught was passed down to his only granddaughter: Rumer Willis’s 18-month-old daughter Louetta “Lou” Isley!
The My Divorce Party star revealed that Bruce’s famous trait was inherited by Lou, and she can already see the cheeky look in her eyes. “What’s amazing is actually that Louetta has that f—–g smirk in her eye!” Rumer told PEOPLE at the Oct. 17 premiere of her film Trail of Vengeance. “She literally has that little sparkle, that certain thing that you can’t [see anywhere else].”
“It’s like this charm and charisma and mischief that just is who my dad is,” Rumer added. “And I love that she has that.”
Is that not the cutest thing you’ve ever heard?! Rumer, who Bruce shares with ex-wife Demi Moore, went on to say that her dad is aware of their similarities despite being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in Feb. 2023. “I think he does. I think he totally does. Absolutely,” she told the outlet.
In an interview with The New York Post in February, Rumer shared how she hopes to pass down her childhood lessons to her daughter, who she shares with ex Derek Richard Thomas. “I grew up in a house where we would lick each other’s faces, and my sisters and I would all — with my mom — we would all bathe together,” the Sorority Row actress said. “And there was just a kind of crazy, silly, weirdo, goofy, naked house.”
“I think that silliness and goofiness is so deeply a part of me, and it’s really what I want to help cultivate in [my daughter’s] life,” she continued, adding, “Both of my parents are so silly . . . I’m just so grateful to have that kind of spark of mischief and fun and play no matter what age I am.”
