High speed chase suspect arrested after running into Quail Springs Mall
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A suspect in a high speed chase was arrested late Friday after jumping out of the car and running inside Quail Springs Mall at the end of the chase.
According to Oklahoma City Police, the chase began as an attempted traffic stop near W Hefner Road and Sunnymeade Place after an officer noticed the suspect's car had a stolen license plate.
At one point, Oklahoma Highway Patrol took over the chase and followed the suspect to the parking lot of Quail Springs Mall.
"We were checking out and all of a sudden, we heard havoc. It was chaos," said Lori Beasley, a witness at the mall. "My grandson ran over to an area of the corner and hid. He [suspect] came right in, running fast, and I looked him straight in the eye. He was frantic."
The suspect reportedly jumped out of the car and ran into the mall in an attempt to escape. He then ran out of the south side of the mall where he was caught and arrested.
There is currently no information on the identity of the subject.
