Mrs Hinch fans love an 18p trick to banish grim limescale from your bathroom – and it works in just a MINUTE
LIMESCALE can be a huge pain to remove and the grim white marks can quickly cover your bathroom if you’re not careful.
Caused by hard water, limescale is actually harmless and is just the chalky deposits left by the calcium and magnesium in the water.
Although it’s harmless, limescale looks unsightly and can damage bathroom screens and fixtures[/caption] This handy trick will banish limescale in no time at all[/caption]But that doesn’t mean it’s not annoying, and sometimes near impossible, to scrub off.
Don’t worry though, you don’t have to break the bank or even a sweat to keep your bathroom limescale free.
One clever cleaning fan took to the popular Mrs Hinch Army Cleaning Tip group on Facebook to share her personal favourite hack for keeping limescale at bay – and it’s only cost you 18p.
“So many people ask about cleaning cloudy stained shower screens,” she wrote.
“I’m a cleaner and never stop learning methods. I had the opportunity to do a before and after this week at work.”
According to the keen cleaner, a magic sponge is all you need to banish the white build-up on your shower screen.
“I do this method and the stains vanish every time,” the Facebook user said.
“I use a wet magic sponge (my holy grail!), wipe down with a wet microfibre cloth and buff to a shine with a glass cloth.
“Takes less than a minute. Hope it helps you all.”
The best part is you can snap up a multipack of magic sponges for just a couple of quid, making this hack a budget-friendly one.
A pack of 10 will set you back just £1.78 from Viking Direct, which works out at just 18p each – not too shabby at all.
Similar products are also available in most supermarkets, like the Flash Ultra Power Magic Eraser, which will set you back £3 for a pack of two.
But don’t just take our word for it, other cleaning fans agreed the hack works wonders on limescale.
One commented on the post: ” “I love these sponges. They work fantastic for nearly all stains.”
A second agreed: “Yes! I love these sponges, never fail me.”
Meanwhile, someone else asked the cleaner if they needed to use any other products alongside the sponge.
They wrote: “Thank you for sharing! No products sprayed on the screen? No bleach or anything with the sponge?”
But the cleaner insisted the sponge was all that is needed for the hack, she said: “Not a thing and it beats vinegar and other home remedies! Just water on the sponge.”
Although, she did note that a toothbrush can help around fixtures to loosen the limescale.
You can also make the most out of magic sponges in other spots around your home like walls, doors, oven doors and even scuffs on trainers.
