Craryville man charged with breaking into home
CRARYVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Craryville man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly forcing himself into a home of a person he previously had a relationship with. According to Troopers, David Grant Jr., 39, was in violation of a full order of protection at the time of the alleged forced entry.
On Oct. 13, troopers and the Columbia County Sheriff's Office arrested Grant. An investigation into the matter determined Grant allegedly forced himself through a bathroom window and struck the victim.
Charges:
- Burglary in the second degree, a class C felony
- Criminal Contempt in the first degree, a class E felony
- Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor
- Criminal Contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor
Grant was later arraigned in the Claverack Court and was remanded to Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court again at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18.
