Woman pleads guilty to 2023 Lincoln County murder
CARNEY, Okla. (KFOR) — A woman charged in July 2023 for her alleged role in the death of her boyfriend in Lincoln County pleaded guilty to first-degree murder on Tuesday.
According to court documents, 40-year-old Janelle Brown filed a guilty plea for first-degree murder on October 15. In addition to murder, Brown was initially charged with accessory to felony, unlawful removal of a dead body, and desecration of a human corpse.
Brown, along with Clyde Clayton, are accused of shooting Brown's boyfriend Brian Corey to death in the home they all shared in the town of Carney. Brown and Clayton allegedly burned Corey's body afterward, along with the recliner he was sitting in and ceramic tile covered in blood.
In July, Brown reportedly led investigators to the burn site, where they discovered burned bone, ceramic tile, and a metal knee implant similar to Corey's.
