WBSC Academy: Licensing Programme for Baseball Technical Commissioners now available in Spanish

The WBSC Baseball Technical Commission hit another milestone this week, launching the WBSC Academy Baseball TC Licensing Programme in Spanish. The English programme, initially released in 2022, was also updated after last season’s release of the WBSC Official Rules of Baseball.

The Baseball TC Licensing Programme ensures that Technical Commissioners are appropriately trained in WBSC baseball rules, regulations, and protocols in WBSC official languages (English and Spanish). It also provides expert-level technical training for anyone who runs baseball championships at local, national, continental or WBSC levels. Instructors for this programme include WBSC’s most experienced Baseball Technical Commissioners, Technical Directors and leaders who have worked at a variety of World Cups, Olympic level events and MLB’s World Baseball Classic.

Participants in the programme hail from all over the world and value the 10-plus hours of training provided.

Henk van der Linde found the course invaluable for helping him create a step-by-step plan for his work as a Technical Commissioner with WBSC Europe. He added that it “has greatly improved my connection with managers and coaches before, during and after matches.”

Henk is now sharing his newfound knowledge and skills with new Technical Commissioners within his Dutch Federation (KNBSB) and WBSC Europe.

Individuals from WBSC Member Federations are eligible to complete the online training followed by a virtual assessment to obtain their WBSC Baseball Technical Commissioner License.
