Music Review: Bon Iver reflects, laments and resets on 'SABLE,' a short EP of indie folk
More than five years have passed since Bon Iver's last album, “i, i” was released. It's fitting that the opening of this new indie folk EP, “SABLE,” arrives like a siren, warning the listener of some intensity ahead. The Associated Press' Dave Campbell writes in his review that “SABLE,” made up of a droning intro and just three complete songs, will leave fans wanting more. The opening track, “Things Behind Things Behind Things” is a lament written during the pandemic as Vernon contemplated his career. The second, “S P E Y S I D E,” is a plea for forgiveness that would fit on his debut album.
