Three links in a very positive chain, Dunns Food and Drinks, Children’s charity, Aware Scotland, who look to support young people in developing their full potential, and Scotland’s oldest football club Queen’s Park, came together for a third wonderful time this week.

The trio met up for a coaching session led by Queen’s Park Foundation’s Football Development Manager, John McNeil, supported by Men’s First Team player Louis Longridge, for some of the children from Aware Scotland, who look to provide unique experiences, build confidence and engender life-long friendship among those who have experienced trauma or faced adverse challenges.

Blantyre based club partners Food and Drinks Wholesalers Dunns helped Queen’s Park host a Fun Day at Hampden last December for children from the charity as well as running football coaching sessions during the Easter Break and there will be a fourth meeting when Airdrieonians visit Hampden on Saturday, December 7.

Queen’s Park’s Head of Commercial Kieran Koszary said: “It is always a pleasure to host a positive event and the events with Dunns Food and Drink together with Aware Scotland are always positive.

“John put the youngsters through some tricky routines and it was great to have Louis on hand to lend his experience and talk about what is involved in being a professional football player.

“The Aware Scotland children were a credit to them and themselves and I am looking forward to seeing them in December.”

Julie Dunn, Operations Director at Dunns Food and Drinks said:We are delighted to see our collaboration with Queen’s Park and Aware Scotland continue to thrive this year.  Being an active part of our community is at the heart of Dunns Food and Drinks and the coaching session today is a great example of the positive impact that we hope to make.”

Chris Glancey, Founder of Aware Scotland added: “We were delighted to be invited to a training session with Queen’s Park, where 18 of our wonderful young people enjoyed an incredible afternoon of teamwork and skill-building. It was a fantastic experience, and we’re hugely grateful to Dunns and Queen’s Park for this brilliant partnership.”
