Niti Bhardwaj had always dreamed of becoming a doctor, but after failing the PMT (Pre-Medical Test), her father suggested, “Why not become a teacher?” However, Niti didn’t give up on her aspirations. Instead, she took a job at a private company in the medical field and later started her own business. Today, she is the owner of two successful companies, one of which produces cancer medication. Yes, this is the inspiring story of Niti Bhardwaj, a renowned woman entrepreneur from Jabalpur.

Niti’s journey to success is nothing short of a movie script. She has built her empire in Umaria Dungaria, an industrial hub located 25 kilometers from Jabalpur. When Local18 visited the lab of her company, RevaCure Life Sciences, Niti shared the struggles she faced along the way, which are bound to inspire anyone who hears them.

Niti Bhardwaj’s dream of becoming a doctor

According to a report in hindi.news18.com, Niti Bhardwaj had always dreamed of becoming a doctor since childhood. She pursued science in 12th grade and scored well in the merit list. Afterward, she took the entrance exam for the Pre-Medical Test (PMT), but unfortunately, she didn’t pass. In the meantime, she continued her education and completed her graduation in Chemistry. Her father wanted her to pursue a Ph.D. and become a teacher in the medical field, but that didn’t appeal to her as she was determined to start her own business.

As time passed, Niti realized that before launching a startup, she needed to build her skills. She trained in the medical field and worked hard to learn the necessary skills. However, the company where she trained didn’t give much preference to women. Despite this, she applied for a position and went back home. To her surprise, she was selected. She worked for the company as an officer for six years, treating it like her own and gaining valuable experience.

Niti’s break from career and the beginning of startup

After six years, Niti got married, and due to the responsibilities of family life, she took a break for two to three years. During this time, her husband was transferred to Delhi, so the family relocated there. Once settled, she decided to restart her career, this time aiming to become a consultant, as consultants were highly respected in the industry. She applied to a German consultancy firm and was selected. A few years later, that firm was acquired by another company.

During this period, her colleagues encouraged her, saying she could start her own business, and they would support her if she did. This inspired her to take the plunge. In 2009, Niti left her job and founded her consulting firm, which has now been running for 15 years. Today, her company is ranked among the top three consulting firms in India, providing services in designing, auditing, and project management for pharmaceutical companies.

What motivated her to manufacture cancer medication

Niti further shared how her personal connection to cancer inspired her to start another venture. Both her cousin and a close friend battled cancer, and the experience of visiting hospitals and thinking about the disease had a profound impact on her. In 2015, she launched her second company in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, specializing in manufacturing cancer medications used in chemotherapy. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her company became the first in Madhya Pradesh to offer treatment for black fungus, an achievement for which they were honored by the Chief Minister.

Niti began her journey working as an employee herself, but today her company employs over 200 people. Many of her former colleagues are eager to work with her again, and even college professors recommend their students for internships at her firms. She takes immense pride in the fact that more than 40 percent of her workforce in Jabalpur consists of women.
