As you've just said though - no crowd and over here, no terrestrial coverage, so the vast majority of people just see the scorecard on the BBC and that's the extent of their involvement.
I don't know what the answer is, but huge daily prices and no free to air is driving cricket into a niche sport. I enjoyed the Hundred originally but I expected it to be a change mechanism and drive a proper franchise 20/20 league, instead they now have all of them still and it's a scheduling mess that also means no test cricket in August, which doesn't help either. Having the 50 over final almost in October is madness.
Can't see my kids generation being bothered about Test cricket when they are 50. Sad, but I don't see how they get it back without some turkeys voting for Christmas.
