Novato auto burglary suspect arrested in Brisbane

Marin County sheriff’s detectives have arrested a Brisbane resident they linked to a Novato auto burglary.

The crime occurred on July 24 when someone stole more than $1,200 worth of tools from a vehicle, said sheriff’s Sgt. Adam Schermerhorn. He said investigators found a fingerprint on the vehicle’s door handle and identified the suspect through the California Department of Justice fingerprint system.

Schermerhorn said the suspect was on parole. Detectives arrested him Tuesday after an interview.

Johnny Manual Trujillo, 33, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and violating his parole conditions. He was booked into the Marin County Jail, where his bail amount was set at $50,000.

The Marin County District Attorney’s Office filed a felony burglary charge against Trujillo on Wednesday.
