Woman finds horror vid of partner raping her passed-out mum when she checked his phone after suspecting he was cheating
A MAN has been jailed after his girlfriend discovered a sickening video of him raping her passed-out mum.
The horrified woman went through her South Australian partner’s phone after suspecting him of cheating before uncovering the footage which left her “scarred for life”.
Videos of the man, 25, showed him assaulting and raping the mum on what appeared to be a massage table, The Advertiser reported.
The mum, who was believed to be intoxicated at the time, was unconscious during the multiple vile recordings.
At the time the man was living with his then partner and her mum.
A District Court hearing on the case heard how the woman’s family “would never be the same again” due to the man’s actions.
Judge Anthony Allen labelled his actions “appalling” and called it a “betrayal” to the family who welcomed him into their lives.
He added: “The fact that you filmed the offending against her is particularly degrading and humiliating.”
The mum was only told about the horrific acts over the phone after her daughter found the videos.
She told the court through a prosecutor last month: “He chose to rape a person who regularly showed him more generosity and love than his own family.
“I felt very violated, betrayed and ashamed by someone I let into my family and home as a son.
“Our family will never be the same again.”
The court heard that when the man was exposed and caught with the videos on his phone he told his partner his motivation was revenge.
The partner had reportedly disclosed personal information to him prior to the recordings being made.
A harrowing victim impact statement by the ex-girlfriend was also read out in court.
She said: “I’m scarred for life after watching multiple videos of him violating my mother.
“No one should have to tell their mum that and I’ll never forget her screams and cries.”
The man pleaded guilty to rape and engaging in humiliating or degrading filming.
The offences took place between 2022 and 2023.
He was later sentenced to five years in jail, with a non-parole period of three years.
The sentence was backdated to September 18.
The man also had a role at a local football club in the South Australian National Football League, the court heard.
But in light of the convictions he is now banned from working at the club or the industry.

- Always keep some money on you, including change for a pay phone or bus fare.
- If you suspect your partner is about to attack you, try to go to a lower-risk area of the house – for example, where there is a way out and access to a telephone.
- Avoid the kitchen and garage, where there are likely to be knives or other weapons. Avoid rooms where you might become trapped, such as the bathroom, or where you might be shut into a cupboard or other small space.
