India to allot satellite internet spectrum via administrative method

India will allocate spectrum for satellite internet through an administrative process rather than an auction, according to Telecommunications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. This decision follows requests from major telecom operators, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, who advocated for an auction approach similar to that used in the telecom sector.
