Strictly fans spot ‘strange’ detail in Wynne and Katya’s apology video after hand push scandal – did you see it?
STRICTLY Come Dancing fans have called out a “strange” detail in Wynne Evans and Katya Jones’ apology video for their “joke” hand push.
This has led some followers of the BBC show to brand their antics – which saw Russian professional dancer Katya, 35, push away the opera singer during Saturday’s live show – as “made up.”
Strictly Come Dancing fans have called out something ‘strange’ in Wynne Evans and Katya Jones’ apology video[/caption] It came after Wynne, 52, was spotted wrapping his arm around his professional partner’s waist on Saturday’s live show[/caption] Some fans have speculated the antics were ‘made up’ because their apology video was rushed out on the night[/caption] They also called out the fact the pair were still wearing their Tango outfits[/caption]It came after they also raised their eyebrows when the Strictly favourite refused to high five Wynne, 52.
Despite the Go Compare advert star revealing his “heartbreak” at the frenzy of opinion that followed – and Katya saying she “can’t bear” the accusations against her celebrity partner – fans reckon something is untoward.
They have honed their attention in on the pair’s initial apology video, released late on Saturday night.
It showed the duo still in their dance outfits from their dramatic Tango routine – leading some fans to believe they had pre-empted a backlash to their actions.
Leading some to believe their antics had been planned prior, one fan took to Reddit to remark: “Is this not just made up drama to try and get viewers to watch again?
“It happened Saturday night yet it you look at the apology from the two of them, they are both wearing the same clothes they wore to dance in Saturday night, so they filmed the apology before it became a thing.”
Yet viewers know the results show is also filmed on the Saturday evening following the live programme, explaining why they were in the same clothing.
Another fan put: “Looks like stupid attempt at cheap childish humour on #Strictly by Wynne and Katya?!”
Another posted: “Actually very insulting and mocking to previous contestants who have suffered real bullying on the show.”
Speaking from backstage in their initial video, Katya said: “Hi everyone, it’s Wynne and Katya here, we just wanted to say we were messing around in the clauditorium on Saturday night and we just want to say sorry.”
She added: “It was a silly joke.”
While Wynne echoed : “Yeah, sorry.”
Despite fans demanding the pair clarify exactly what “the joke” was, Katya didn’t add any further detail in her second video on Sunday.

TOUGH TIMES
The pair’s banter came after the BBC series was engulfed in a series of scandals – though there is no suggestion Katya and Wynne’s joke was inappropriate.
The findings of a probe into former Strictly professional Giovanni’s Pernice behaviour were published earlier this month.
The report upheld six out of 17 allegations against pro dancer Giovanni.
The BBC has now apologised to his former show partner, actress Amanda Abbington over the programme’s bullying scandal.
The investigation also found instances of Giovanni using swear words, “belittling” language and giving negative feedback.
Yet it concluded the Italian was not abusive to the Sherlock star, did not make threats and was not intimidating.
Giovanni – who quit Strictly earlier this year – had always denied the claims.
