Laura Vaughan’s MAFS diary: I feel a couple swap coming along – and this could mean the end for Hannah and Stephen

0

MARRIED At First Sight viewers saw the third commitment ceremony last night – and the episode somehow ended with as many couples as it started with.

But to be honest with you, I’m just not quite sure how that happened…

So I’m going to talk to you guys about the four couples I think should have left.

I can’t believe that Richelle and Orson are still in the experiment, despite some of the stuff that she has been saying to her husband.

And I think that it could be the end for Hannah and Stephen.

Another thing that has crossed my mind how Polly and Adam’s relationship has done a 180.

In my last diary I mentioned that she shouldn’t be intimate with a man she can’t trust… but now it seems that the pair are somehow stronger than ever.

If you are as obsessed as Married At First Sight as I am, you need to keep reading, as I’ve got some thoughts...

Wife swap incoming!

Hannah and Stephen are going through a rough patch at the moment[/caption]

I’ve seen the clip where Hannah and Stephen’s relationship just falls even further on it’s face.

I think Hannah should have just bit the bullet and let that man go because he clearly does not want to be there.

Based on last night’s clip I wouldn’t be surprised if Hannah ends up recoupling with someone else.

We’ve already seen the rumours flying around, but she wants to be there, she wants to work on her relationship.

But I don’t think that she’s going to have that opportunity with Stephen.

I can see a couple swap coming along.

Caspar and Emma – it’s just not working?!

The pair haven’t had it easy since the experiment started[/caption]

Emma and Caspar are staying in the experiment despite sitting on the sofa three times and not holding each other’s hand or touching each other once.

Now is the time to say, you know what it might have worked on paper, but it’s not translating in real life.

We don’t really get on, so respectfully we’re going to leave.

Orson needs to send up an SOS flare

Richelle and Orson have clashed heads in recent weeks[/caption]

Richelle has sentenced Orson to another week as her husband.

She’s called him a cretin and said that she can’t stand him because he doesn’t stand up for himself and he’s not manly enough, but ironically when she does start standing up for himself at the commitment ceremony, she reigns holy hell upon him.

The contempt that she has for this man – and we aren’t really seeing the reason why?

The couple’s retreat will be very telling because there is nowhere to hide.

You spend a lot of time with the other couples and everyone gets an insight into your relationship.

That will be the undoing of those two.

I think Orson needs to send up an SOS flare and we will go in and rescue him because I think he’s going to have a hard week.

Holly and Alex decided to stay in the experiment – despite their rows[/caption]

I felt it very uncomfortable to watch Alex and Holly last night.

When he was saying to Holly that he’s not an unapproachable whilst glaring into the depths of her soul, I found that really really hard to watch.

Holly then called him intimidating and explained that’s why she prefers to have the conversations in public.

It is actually quite similar to the situation with my former co-stars Brad and Shona from the last season.

I’m really hoping the experts step in before it gets to that point.

Holly will say crucial things like she feels intimated and feels silenced, but then back it up by saying they had a really nice week.

Who are you trying to convince?!

I don’t buy into Adam and Polly

Polly and Adam have become intimate in their relationship – even though he said she’s not his type[/caption]

Adam was so honestly about not fancying Polly, not wanting to give her mixed messages, now all of a sudden they are cuddling and kissing.

But I don’t see any emotional intimacy.

I’m sorry guys I don’t think I’m buying into this relationship.

Mafs couples that have stood the test of time

Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.

The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.

Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.

Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.

Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”

Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.

Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.

“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.

“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’

“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”

Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.

Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.

They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.

Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”
