‘I can’t recommend it highly enough’ mum raves about £8 buy that made brushing her girls’ thick hair SO much easier

A MUM has shared the £8 buy she swears by for making brushing her daughters’ thick hair a whole lot easier.

Sarah took to Facebook to rave about the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Leave-in Serum, as she said: “If you’re having trouble with hair brushing I can’t recommend this highly enough!”

She revealed that she’d picked up the £8 serum, as well as the other bits in the range, for herself a “while ago”.

Sarah then decided to try it on her two daughters after their bath, and found that the next morning the “brush went through their hair like a hot knife through butter”.

She was even more thrilled with the buy as she’d tried so many things for her girls in the past.

“We’ve tried all sorts previously from various brushes, conditioners, silk pillow cases, plaits in bed but they always take them out,” she sighed.

“And nothing has ever worked the way this did this morning!”

As an added bonus, a little goes a long way, so “it lasts ages”, Sarah said in the post on the Family Lowdown Tips & Ideas group on Facebook.

And other people were quick to comment on the post, thanking Sarah for the recommendation.

“Off to get today – we have a mare with brushing and knots!” one wrote.

“Ooo, I’m going to take you up on this recommendation for our girl, just added it to the shopping basket,” another said.

“We normally use Cantu products though, my fingers are crossed.

“Might just make my mornings a little smoother!”

“Just ordered on Amazon to try,” a third wrote.

“I can’t seem to get a brush through my daughters hair no matter what I do!”

“Amazing, thank you!!” someone else said.

“My daughter has hair similar length and thickness to your daughters and I have been struggling for months.

“The amount of hairsprays / brushes and shampoos we have tried!”

Hairstyles that are kind to your locks

  1. Loose Braids: Opt for loose, soft braids rather than tight ones to minimise tension on the scalp and reduce breakage.
  2. Low Ponytail: A low ponytail is less stressful on your hair compared to high, tight ponytails. Use a fabric-covered hair tie to avoid snagging.
  3. Messy Bun: A relaxed, messy bun can be both stylish and kind to your hair. Avoid pulling your hair too tightly and use gentle hair ties.
  4. Soft Waves: Embrace your natural texture or use heatless methods to create soft waves, reducing the need for damaging heat styling tools.
  5. Half-Up, Half-Down: This style keeps some hair pulled back while leaving the rest down, reducing the strain on your scalp.
  6. Headbands and Scarves: Using headbands or scarves can keep hair out of your face without causing damage, and they can be quite fashionable.
  7. Loose Plaits for Sleeping: Before bed, loosely plait your hair to prevent tangles and breakage overnight.

As others shared their own positive reviews of the serum.

“Recently tried some other bits from this range and was really impressed!” one wrote.

“Great for my daughter’s hair which I think must be similar to yours.

“Also the scent is so similar to brands like Kevin Murphy!”

“My daughter is 14 and loves this she steals mine so have to buy extra now,” another admitted.

“I swear by this stuff,” a third commented.

“It gives my blonde hair such a beautiful shine!”
