THIS cricketer, who was banned once, becomes richer than even MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma now, his net worth is Rs 14500000000…
It is no secret that cricket is the richest and most lucrative sport in India. But this week we have surprisingly seen a former India star surpass the net worth of Indian cricket legends like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and even current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.
We are talking about former India captain and all-rounder Ajay Jadeja, who was name heir to Jamnagar Royal throne last week. The 53-year-old’s net worth has now suddenly soared to Rs 1,450 crore – well above Rs 1,050 crore net worth of former India skipper MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli’s Rs 1,022 crore net worth.

Jadeja has been declared the next Jam Saheb of Nawanagar, also known as Jamnagar the princely state in Gujarat. The development was confirmed by Maharaja Jam Saheb of the erstwhile Nawanagar Royal family in a statement on Saturday.
“Today, on Dussehra, I am equally happy, because I have found a solution to one of my problems and its success is Ajay Jadeja, who has accepted to be my heir. Ajay Jadeja taking up the responsibility of serving the people of Jamnagar is truly a boon for the people of Jamnagar,” the statement read.
India Test and ODI captain and former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has a net worth of Rs 670 crore while current MI captain Hardik Pandya’s net worth is Rs 418 crore. However, Jadeja’s former India teammate and Indian cricket legend still remains one of the richest cricketers in India with net worth of over Rs 1,670 crore.
Jadeja turned out in 15 Test matches for India from 1992 to 2000, scoring 576 runs at 26.18 with four half-centuries to his name and a best of 96. He also represented India in 196 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) during the period, having scored 5,359 runs at 37.47 with 6 hundred and 30 fifties to his name in the format. He also was part of 111 First-Class and 291 List ‘A’ games and has scored over 8,000 runs in each format with 31 hundreds and 88 fifties combined in both formats of the game.
Due to his alleged involvement in match-fixing, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) banned him from cricket for life on June 3, 2000, later the BCCI reduced the to five years. On 27 January 2003, a Delhi court lifted the ban. However, Jadeja was not able to play again for Indian cricket team.
Maharaja Shatrusalyasinh Jadeja, Ajay Jadeja’s uncle, made it official on October 12, naming his nephew the new heir. Shatrusalyasinh is Ajay’s cousin from his father Daulatsinghji’s side and was a Member of Parliament from 1971 to 1984. The royal cricketing legacy runs deep in the family.
Shatrusalyasinhji was not only a cricketer himself, captaining Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy during the 1966-67 season, but he also headed the Saurashtra Cricket Association.
However, Jadeja is still not the richest royal who has played cricket in India. That honour still belongs to the Maharaja of Baroda, Samarjitsinh Gaekwad, who is the owner of Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara and has a reported net worth of over Rs 20,000 crore.
