The Shane Bieber Dilemma

Do the Guardians decide to bring back their old ace Shane Bieber after injury for another year or not? Obviously opportunity and money play in here too.

I think the decision is easy: give him a 1 year prove it deal worth $10-20 million plus incentives with some kind of mutual option for a second year.

Why offer him one year? We don't need him as much as he needs us. So give him one year to prove he can command a big paycheck. Then,.you can recoup a high draft pick if he signs elsewhere the following year. So why would he do it? He needs an opportunity that will still pay and this is a playoff team.
