NATIONAL SUMMARY

Showers, including lake-effect showers, will span across

much of the Midwest and Great Lakes, down into the mountains

of West Virginia and Pennsylvania. They will also expand

into New York and New England. In higher elevations of

Minnestota, Wisconsin, New York and northern New England,

there can be snow mixing with rain, transitioning to snow

showers in the evening. In the Pacific Northwest, many areas

west of the Cascades in Washington will have periods of

light rain and showers; there can even be a few snow showers

in parts of the Cascades. The Southwest will continue to

bake under the sun, but it will be the start of relatively

cooler afternoons, steadily coming closer to historical

average daily highs as the week progresses. The Interior

West can largely expect pleasant, warm and dry weather.
