Buckeyes fall to No. 5 in new ranking after loss to Oregon in Week 7
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Ohio State has shifted down in the USA Today coaches poll after suffering its first loss of the season to Oregon.
Ohio State (5-1, 2-1) now sits at No. 5 in the USA Today coaches poll after falling to the Oregon Ducks 32-31 at Autzen Stadium on Saturday. The top three showdown was the first between the two schools in Eugene since 1967 and marked Ohio State's second straight loss in the series history with the Ducks.
Oregon's win means the Ducks have risen to No. 2, where the Buckeye sat last week. Meanwhile, the Texas Longhorns secured a 34-3 win over Oklahoma to remain at No. 1. While Alabama snagged a 27-25 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday, the Crimson Tide is still at No. 7 after falling to Vanderbilt last week.
Penn State has risen to the No. 3 spot, while Georgia is still at No. 4 and Miami sits at No. 6.
