Pakistan separatist militants BLA deny involvement in mine attack that killed 20

The “Balochistan Liberation Army” (BLA) condemned the attack on mine workers in Pakistan’s Balochistan, which resulted in the deaths of 20 workers. The group stated that it had no involvement in the attack. According to reports, around seven Afghan workers were among the victims.

As reported by Reuters, on Saturday, October 12, the BLA denied responsibility for the attack on mine workers in Pakistan’s Balochistan by sending an email.

The group stated, “The Balochistan Liberation Army declares that our organization has no connection to this tragic incident.”

In the attack that occurred on Friday on coal mine workers in the Dukki region of Balochistan province, 20 workers, including seven Afghans, were killed.

So far, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for this attack.

Following the incident, the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the attack and called on Pakistan to take necessary measures to prevent such incidents.

Earlier, the Taliban embassy in Islamabad announced that the bodies of four out of the seven Afghan workers killed in the incident had been transferred to Afghanistan.

This tragic event has cast a shadow over the upcoming SCO summit, highlighting ongoing security concerns in the region. Despite the condemnation from various groups, the lack of accountability has raised questions about the safety of workers in conflict-prone areas like Balochistan.

As international and regional players prepare for the SCO summit, this attack underscores the need for collective action to address instability and violence in border regions, impacting both Pakistan and its neighboring countries.
