Senior Iranian leader flies plane, lands in Beirut amid heavy Israeli bombardment; video goes viral
New Delhi: At a time when the tensions between Iran and Israel are very high and the latter is continuously bombarding Lebanon targeting Hezbollah, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf on Saturday, October 12, piloted a civilian flight to Lebanon capital Beirut.
The video of the flight has gone viral on social media.

The video is posted on X by Iran Nuances @IranNuances with the caption: “As the pilot, #Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf landed on the runway of #Beirut International Airport, with smoke from Israeli bombings visible in the background.”
Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf is a former military pilot and commander of the IRGC Air Force. He flew to Beirut at the invitation of his Lebanese counterpart and Shia party Amal’s chief, Nabih Berri, reported Iranian media.
Qalibaf is the second Iranian official to visit Lebanon since Israel started its airstrikes on the Arab country late last month. Earlier this month, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited Lebanon on October 4 for talks with top officials.
