Cavs react to Guardians series-clinching win
Mitchell and his teammates fully enjoyed the Guardians’ 7-3 win over the Detroit Tigers.
The Cleveland Guardians took care of business against the Detroit Tigers in Game 5 on Saturday afternoon. They have a date with the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series as a result. Donovan Mitchell and many of his teammates from the Cleveland Cavaliers were on hand to enjoy the victory.
Mitchell reacted just like the 34,000-plus people in Progressive Field and everyone watching on TV when Lane Thomas hit a grand slam to give the Guardians a 5-1 lead.

It’s always fun when the other professional teams rally around each other. The reigning champion Cavs went to every playoff game they could when the baseball team was making their way to the World Series in 2016. History could be repeating itself as different versions of the Cavs and Guardians hope to make/continue their deep postseason runs.
Things could become complicated for Mitchell if his New York Mets faced off against the Guardians in the World Series. But that’s a problem I’m sure he would gladly welcome.
The Cavs are getting ready for the start of their season. They have two additional preseason next week before that happens. They officially open the season north of the border against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
