Top Scullers Compete for $4k at Tuxedo Park Regatta
Sunday, October 13th will mark the third annual Tuxedo Park 1886 Regatta. Sixteen of the country’s top single scullers, eight men and eight women, will have the chance to compete in a one-on-one knockout style race, similar to Henley. The race is just shy of 2k sitting at 1886 meters, symbolic of the year that the Tuxedo Club was founded. The invite-only race is hosted by the historic Tuxedo Club in Tuxedo Park, New York.
The weekend will kick off on Saturday night with a reception and draw to set the bracket for the following morning. The grand cash prize for each event is a total of $4,000, with a second place prize of $2,000. Michelle Sechser, Kara Kohler, Teal Cohen, Alina Hagstrom, Hannah Paynter, Savanna Brija, Sera Moon Busse, and Sophie Calabrese are confirmed to be racing in the women’s event. Ian O’Riley, Eliot ‘Finn’ Putnam, Christian Tabash, Paul Verni, Cedar Cunningham, Breck Duncan, Andrew Leroux, and Sam Melvin will be racing in the men’s event. The weekend will conclude with a gala on Sunday night to celebrate the athletes.
