'Woke train wreck': Triggered spokesman lashes out at ex-general who called Trump fascist

A spokesperson for former President Donald Trump lashed out Saturday at the former U.S. Army general who called his boss an an authoritarian threat to democracy, according to a new report.

Campaign representative Steven Cheung hurled insults at retired General Mark Milley over his reported remark that Trump was "fascist to the core," Newsweek reported Saturday.

"Woke train-wreck Mark Milley clearly suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome and it's no surprise he pals around with a washed-up fiction writer like Bob Woodward to peddle lies and misinformation," Cheung told Newsweek.

Cheung was responding to a remark reportedly made by Milley in Woodward's new book "War," according to Newsweek.

"He is the most dangerous person ever," Milley reportedly said. "I had suspicions when I talked to you about his mental decline and so forth, but now I realize he's a total fascist."

Trump nominated Milley to be chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 2018 and he served in that role from 2019 to 2023, Newsweek reported.

In his conversations with Woodward, Milley also revealed he remains concerned that Trump will order a military trial against him if re-elected as president in 2025.

Since retiring, Milley has received what Woodward reportedly described as "a non-stop barrage of death threats" that the former general believes are motivated by Trump's efforts to discredit him.

“He is inciting people to violence with violent rhetoric," Milley told his wife, according to Woodward. "But he does it in such a way it’s through the power of suggestion, which is exactly what he did on Jan. 6."
