NYC Dem Justin Brannan ousted from City Council’s Italian caucus over Columbus Day stance

A Brooklyn Democrat who is among the frontrunners in next year’s comptroller race has been booted off the City Council’s Italian Caucus for refusing to pledge steadfast support to Christopher Columbus.
