Franklin teen arrested on gun, child porn, animal abuse charges

FRANKLIN, La. (KLFY) -- A Franklin teen arrested Sept. 20 on gun charges was re-arrested Tuesday and accused of possessing child porn and sexual abuse of an animal, authorities said.
Kamryn Kinchen, 17, Franklin, was arrested on Sept. 20, and charged with three counts of possession of an automatic weapon and one count of possession of an unregistered weapon. Mycal Kinchen, 19, was also arrested at the same time on the same charges.
Kamryn Kinchen was arrested Tuesday by the Berwick Police Department on a warrant for sexual abuse of an animal, pornography involving juveniles (42 counts) and pornography involving juveniles under 13 years of age (60 counts).
On Sept. 20, St. Mary Parish detectives were joined by Morgan City narcotics officers, Berwick narcotics officers and Franklin Police to serve a warrant at a residence in Franklin, officials said.
Upon executing the warrant, detectives recovered three Glock handguns that had been altered with illegal Glock Switches to make them automatic weapons, according to authorities.
Investigators said they discovered that Kamryn Kinchen was in possession of child pornography on his personal phone, as well as a video depicting sexual abuse of an animal. Detectives obtained a warrant for additional charges and with the assistance of the Berwick Police Department, Kinchen was arrested on the warrant.
Kinchen remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Jail on $910,000 bond.
