Lockport man pleads guilty to murdering sister
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Lockport man has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for murdering his sister in 2023, the Niagara County District Attorney's Office said Friday.
David Fermoile, 65, killed his sister, 68-year-old Diane Fermoile-McAvoy, at a home on Windermere Road on June 7, 2023. The woman was found dead after officers were called to the home to perform a welfare check after a visiting nurse was unable to make contact with a patient at the home. Fermoile and his 98-year-old mother resided at the home.
Fermoile pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. He will be officially sentenced on Dec. 11.
